The Lady

The silent serenity of the night
Was split by a sudden downpour:
Lighting flashing, thunder booming,
Unraveling the late plans of the lady
To return home before morning.

Sporadic flashes illumined
The windows from time to time,
Casting, briefly, full revelation
Upon the lady with her companion,
Otherwise lit only by soft candlelight.

As the storm continued to rage outside,
They enjoyed their time, alone, together
With the bliss of each other's company,
Simple glasses of white wine,
And the gentle caress of lover's hands.

Unrelenting with the rain,
Through the night their passion grew
As a kindled fire to a roaring blaze,
From mild longing to burning desire
Until every caress turned to a kiss.

The lady, undressed, slid seductively
Into bed beside her lover,
Caressing the small of his naked back
As he pulled her body close to him,
Bit in her neck and fed.
